What's our process?
Before Treatment
Before receiving treatment at our Bolton botox clinic, we will invite you to a pre-treatment consultation so Dr Fab can check your medical history, discuss your concerns and examine your facial anatomy, as well as give you all the facts that you need so you can make an informed and educated decision about whether [treatment] will be suitable for you. Only then will Dr Equizi agree to administer the treatment.
Before Treatment
- Before you agree to laser resurfacing, we highly recommend booking a consultation at least a week before receiving treatment.
- The consultation allows you to meet the practitioner and discuss why you want the treatment.
- The practitioner will examine your medical history and assess whether laser resurfacing is suitable.
- If treatment is suitable, you will receive all the information you need to prepare for your appointment.
- The practitioner will determine the best-suited techniques and products and may offer tips or special creams to help you prepare.
- You are often advised to avoid heavy sun exposure and specific medication or supplements in the days and weeks before you receive laser resurfacing.
- You will do a patch test several days before the appointment to test your skin’s reaction, identify any allergy concerns and provide a sample of the sensation you will experience.
During Treatment
- On the day of your treatment, your skin will be cleansed, and you will be provided with protective eyewear.
- Fractional laser resurfacing usually only creates minimal discomfort, and no anaesthetic may be required.
- The procedure can take between 10 to 40 minutes while the practitioner moves the laser device over the treated area.
- Once treatment is completed, the area will be cooled.
- You may need repeat sessions, as much as three, to enjoy the full effects.
After Treatment
- After you have been treated, the practitioner will provide all the advice you need on how best to care for your skin afterwards. They will also offer tips and lifestyle changes you can make to prolong the results, maximising your laser resurfacing treatment.
- For instance, you might be advised to avoid makeup for several days and apply sun protection even in poor weather conditions.
- You will likely experience a sunburnt sensation that should clear within several hours.
- Minor side effects include skin redness and swelling. These side effects should disappear within a few days. If you have any concerns, you can contact the clinic anytime.
- You should recover from laser resurfacing within 1-2 days.
