INTRAcel
Our skin tells the world a lot about our age, health and general wellbeing. It is the largest organ of the body and is responsible for protecting the internal organs, regulating heat and eliminating toxins. It’s no wonder therefore, that the skin can succumb to premature ageing, lines and wrinkles, conditions such as acne and acne scarring and sagging over time. When cleansing, toning and applying moisturiser is not enough to restore and revitalise your skin, we can offer INTRACel medical fractional microneedling with radiofrequency, here at Enhance Clinispa in Bolton.

What is INTRAcel
INTRAcel is a device which combines controlled medical microneedling with powerful monopolar and bipolar radiofrequency heat energy which penetrates the skin to increase promote collagen and elastin production. It creates a trauma to the skin which, in turn causes the skin to send a healing response to this trauma. A special handpiece with a small head sends the needles in to the skin to a depth of 0.5 to 2mm. This non-surgical yet highly effective treatment can offer skin repair, resurfacing and revitalisation for a number of skin concerns
What's our process?
Step 1
Before receiving treatment at our Bolton botox clinic, we will invite you to a pre-treatment consultation so Dr Fab can check your medical history, discuss your concerns and examine your facial anatomy, as well as give you all the facts that you need so you can make an informed and educated decision about whether [treatment] will be suitable for you. Only then will Dr Equizi agree to administer the treatment.

FAQs
What happens during the treatment?
Your skin will be treated with a numbing cream an hour before the treatment. The device head will then be passed, several times across the areas to be treated. During the treatment you will feel a slight pricking sensation followed by warmth at the treatment site which will intensify as the treatment continues. However, the skin is cooled during the treatment to minimise any discomfort and make the treatment completely tolerable.
Does it hurt?
As this is a fractional device, the tiny needles which penetrate in to the dermis only treat that area. The remaining tissue is left unharmed, meaning there is far less downtime than if the whole area is treated. Patients have been known to attend social events on the evening of their treatment and return to their normal activities the next day.
Is there any downtime?
Initially you may experience tiny pinpoint bleeding, which will settle a few minutes after the treatment. After which you will experience a sensation of mild sunburn for around an hour afterwards. The skin may have a pinkish tone for 2 to 3 days after the treatment but this is completely normal and indicates that the skin is healing as it should be. Some other normal side effects can include redness, burns, scabbing, blanching, itching, blistering and reactivation of herpes simplex if you have a tendency to experience this condition. The skin’s natural healing process will start immediately and new skin will start to develop.

You will need to apply a high factor sun screen (at least SPF30) after the treatment and try and avoid direct sunlight on your skin. You can wear a mineral makeup 24 hours after the treatment but will need to avoid hot saunas, sunbeds, steam rooms and any hot water treatments for at least 2 to 3 days after INTRAcel.
